Record Whiskey

The Guinness Book of World Records has confirmed the record of "Macallan" as the most expensive whiskey in the world sold at auction with the sale of "Imperial M" in Hong Kong, in 2014.

The 6-liter bottle of "M Imperiale Lalique Decanter Macallan" was therefore auctioned in the city of Hong Kong for 628, 000 dollars (American) in January 2014, beating the previous record of 460, 000 dollars still held by "The Macallan "But bottled in" Lalique Cire Perdue ".

David Cox of "The Macallan" said: - For "The Macallan", to reach this record again is an exceptional result that bears witness to the value of our whiskey and the creations of "Lalique". "M Imperiale" is the largest "Lalique decanter" ever produced and filled with Macallan, which showcases the combined talent of one of the greatest designers in the world (Fabien Baron) with the "Lalique" and "The Macallan". -

The "Lalique" has created four "decanters M", each of which requires the work of 17 artisans and 50 hours of work. Of the four, two were assigned to "The Macallan", while one (the "Costantino", signed by the creators: Lalique, Silvio Denz, Fabien Baron and Bob Dalgarno) was purchased by a private anonymous collector.

All sales proceeds were donated to charities in Hong Kong.
