Why do cats eat grass?

Vegetarian cat? Not exactly. True, cats eat grass, but it is believed that this behavior is dictated above all by the need to vomit.

A cat that lives in the wild, for example, may need to vomit out the non-digestible parts of what it has eaten, such as the feathers and feathers of birds or the hair of a mouse.

Even a fur ball, created in the stomach for normal cleaning by licking, could trigger the need for vomiting in the feline.

But sometimes cats eat grass for pleasure. Just think of catnip, the generic name of some plant species particularly appreciated by felines for their psychostimulant effects; such species include Valeriana officinalis and Nepeta cataria, which have a stimulating and then sedative effect on the cat.
