E357 POTASSIUM ADIPATE

Potassium adipate is the potassium salt of adipic acid, a natural acid (E355).

Potassium adipate is used by the food industry as an acidity regulator. It can usually be contained in aromatized salts as a substitute for table salt (for low-sodium products).

At present, no negative side effects are known, as the potassium adipate is eliminated in the urine.

ADI DOSE: 5 mg per kg of body weight.
