From a nutritional point of view, ice cream is an excellent "food supplement", it induces a feeling of satiety.

Fruit or cream?

The nutritional value depends on the ingredients. A distinction can be made between fruit and cream ice creams;

the former have a good presence of antioxidant vitamin factors that come from fruit, while cream ones have a richer composition, with a good supply of milk proteins or high biological value eggs; short chain fats of easy digestibility, mineral salts; calcium and phosphorus, essential components for muscle tissue and vitamins: A (retinol) and B2 (riboflavin).

From the caloric point of view, fruit ice cream has a lower number of calories: 150 kcal on 100 grams. Those with cream 300 kcal on 100 grams.

Perfect for those who play sports

Ice cream meets the needs of those who play sports in particular. The glucides (carbohydrates) it contains are lactose and sucrose, which are essential for the metabolism of red blood cells and nervous tissue.

Provides plenty of water, perfect for replenishing water losses lost during movement.

I conclude by saying that even cream ice creams are good, having a low glycemic index, that is they slowly raise the blood glucose content (blood sugar).

In the case of ice cream the production of insulin, a pancreatic hormone secreted by beta cells is slow and regular, with the result that glucose is absorbed more slowly by the cells that burn it to obtain energy without turning it into fat.
