These products / services are of various kinds and include books, DVDs, CDs, creams, lotions, pills, rings and earrings, wraps, belts or waistcoats, fitness centers, personal coaches, personal trainers, weight loss groups, foods and food supplements.

In 2008, between 33 and 55 billion dollars were spent in the United States on products and services for weight loss, including medical procedures, drugs and weight loss centers; these last move between 6 and 12% of the total quota mentioned.
