The current record is more than double the previous (around 4100kg), cooked by 50 Arab and Israeli Jews in January 2010, at the Arab-Israeli village of Abu Gosh.
According to local media, the recipe included 8 tons of boiled chickpeas, 2 tons of tahin, 2 tons of lemon juice and about 70kg of olive oil.
