E131 - BLEAU PATENTATO V (CI 42051)

Patented Bleau V is a blue colored synthetic dye used in many products, such as candies, syrups, liqueurs, drinks, icings, ice creams and popsicles. Currently, little data is available on the effects it produces on human health. Cases of lowering blood pressure and episodes of tremor have been reported. In allergic people, the patented V bleau can cause skin sensitization, hives, itching, nausea and insomnia. It could be carcinogenic; currently prohibited in Australia.

ADI DOSE: 15 mg per kg of body weight.
