Indications ELOCON ® Mometasone

ELOCON ® is indicated in the treatment of dermatitis, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, sunburn and all other forms of inflammatory skin diseases sensitive to treatment with corticosteroids.

Mechanism of action ELOCON ® Mometasone

The Mometasone, active ingredient of ELOCON ®, is a recently introduced synthetic corticosteroid, endowed with particular pharmacokinetic properties that allow the setting of therapeutic plans based on daily single administration.

Against these pharmacokinetic properties, the pharmacodynamic properties are the same as those of other corticosteroids, therefore characterized by the ability to induce the expression of proteins such as Lipocortin capable of inhibiting the enzyme Phospholipase A2, initiator of the molecular events leading to the production of prostaglandins, chemical mediators endowed with marked pro-inflammatory activities, platelet aggregating and edemigene.

All this takes the form of a prompt remission of the complained symptomatology and a clear improvement in the quality of life of the affected patient.

Avoid applying the medicine to eyes and mucous membranes, avoid using the drug for particularly long periods of time, avoid applying the medicine on particularly large skin areas, cleanse your hands after each application and contact your doctor immediately following the appearance of unwanted effects are just the main precautions that the patient should follow.

It is also recommended to keep the drug out of the reach of children.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING

The use of ELOCON ® during pregnancy and in the subsequent period of breastfeeding is generally contraindicated.
