Lifestyle

The Ayurveda lifestyle rules are very complex and complex. They are behavioral norms that are linked to daily life and inner life.

THE FIVE PRINCIPLES OF BEHAVIOR ACCORDING TO AYURVEDA
  • Refrain from killing (any form of animal life)
  • Refrain from stealing
  • Refrain from inappropriate sexual behavior
  • Refrain from lying
  • Refrain from consuming alcohol

Here we do not want to go into details and only three schematic tables are presented to make the close relationship between lifestyle, the unique essence of the individual and physical and mental (as well as spiritual) well-being understood in this case as well. Once again, we can ideally link everyday behaviors with the mystique of the ayurveda essence, and from here we can make numerous arguments that only seem superficial and unrelated to the life of each of us. Again, getting lost in the contemplation of the transcendent macrocosm of mystical lifestyles (ayurveda, anthroposophy, Veghian, religious, etc.).

Ayurveda time clock

Pitta's influence is stronger between ten in the morning and two in the afternoon and from twenty-two in the morning. This is one of the reasons why one should eat the main meal in the middle of the day and have it digested by two. Gastrointestinal problems can get worse during this time, and peptic ulcers can start to bleed.

This influence is not very active

overnight.

The influence of kapha predominates between six and ten, both in the morning and in the evening. The mucus collects in the membranes and lungs. Fat handling and lymphatic circulation are activated. At these times of the day, patients suffering from cataracts, sinusitis or asthma may have difficulties. This effect is alleviating towards the end of the kapha period. The influence of vata is predominant in the period between two and six in the morning and in the afternoon; after six, it's the best time to do physical activity and sport. Early in the morning, the brain is rested again and this is the best time to think and plan. The best time

to defecate is at six in the morning.

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES FOR A HEALTHY LIFE ACCORDING TO THE PRINCIPLES OF AYURVEDA

  • It is preferable to express in writing a particular feeling or thought, rather than suppress it
  • Do not sleep supine or prone; for the energy centers of the body it is better to sleep on your side;
  • Do not read in bed. This damages the sight and fills the mind with active thoughts the moment it should calm down.
  • Do not try to cover up body odor with deodorants or other substances; rather solve the cause of the smell.
  • Lie on your back on the floor, with paperbacks under your head, for 15 minutes a day. This aligns the back, the neck and the head, and calms the body and mind.
  • Avoid excessive masturbation, as it leads to vata imbalances. Avoid having sex during the menstrual cycle, as this also leads to vata imbalances.
  • During the cycle women are advised to avoid exhausting physical exercises, including the most difficult yoga positions, such as the candle. Avoid oral and anal sex, considered by Ayurveda not natural and unhygienic.

Ayurvedic treatments

Once again, a complex and schematically articulated argument emerges, which does not do justice to ayurvedic treatments, but which provides only a gash to understand the methods of intervention.

Before starting any treatment, the ayurvdico doctor will try to make a complete anamnesis according to the ayurvedic criteria, including the personal information that would seem far from the complaints. In a second step we proceed towards a purification of the organism with a process of detoxification ( panchakarma ), which is often the only prescribed cure (vamana karma: induced vomiting; virechana (purga), anuvasana vasti (enema with oil) or niruha ( enema with decoctions), nasya karma (nasal therapy using vapors and fumigations of herbal decoctions).

CONTRAINDICATIONS OF AYURVEDIC MEDICINE

Ayurveda recommends using only natural herbal remedies and treatments, which have few contraindications. Many of these are based on common sense (for example, pregnant women, diabetics, young children and the elderly should not be subjected to purgative and emetic therapies of panchakarma ). It is important to remember that Ayurvedic treatments should only be prescribed by qualified doctors and that the patient will not have to interrupt the prescribed medication therapy without first consulting their primary care physician.
