Cosmetic properties of sapote oil?

Sapote oil is obtained from the seed of the fruit of Pouteria sapota, a plant native to the rainforests of Central America.

The fruit recalls the flavor of pumpkin, sweet potato and bitter almond; it has a brown and rough skin that encloses a soft orange flesh. For this reason, the natives of the Dominican Republic also call it " Caribbean apricot ". Inside, there is a dark and shiny seed from which a precious cosmetic oil is obtained.

Known since the time of the Mayans and Aztecs who used it as a skin soothing and to strengthen their hair, sapote seed oil is a concentrate of carotene (source of vitamins A), lysine and squalene. The result is marked moisturizing and anti-aging properties that make it suitable for deeply nourishing dry, sensitive and mature skin.

Recently, sapote seed oil has been introduced in the formulations that take care of the hair, thanks to its fortifying and restructuring properties . It can be found in cosmetic preparations ranging from shampoo to mask, from conditioner to anti-fall vials. Sapote oil can also be used pure as a regenerating wrap, particularly suitable for regulating dry or frizzy hair.
