Product features Thermo X - Sictec Nutrition

Thermogenic: supplements that are born as adjuvants for weight loss, regulating one of the main energy expenditure mechanisms of the human organism: the production of heat. The field of action of these supplements is precisely thermogenesis, which significantly affects daily energy needs. The need to maintain a constant body temperature, preserving the functional integrity of the internal organs, is an essential prerogative for the survival of man, for which one is willing to spend a real energy heritage. In addition to a cold-induced thermogenesis, there is another one induced by the diet, which contributes about 10% to the total energy expenditure, and another still - defined optional - supported by a series of substances with sympathomimetic action. In general, the production of thermal energy is due to mitochondrial activity and to the presence of futile cycles (classic example is the shiver: that is contractions of muscles that do not lead to any useful movement, or metabolic cycles that do not lead to the production of any compound organic).

Mitochondrial thermogenesis, particularly intense at the level of brown adipose tissue (preserved exclusively in small anatomical districts in the adult organism), allows the proton gradient normally used to guarantee ATP production to be dissipated in thermal energy, thanks to the presence of uncoupling proteins ( UCP) which reduce the efficiency of the mitochondrial chain.

Thermogenesis and overweight

The control of this physiological parameter is becoming increasingly important, as a series of alterations in pathological conditions such as obesity have been observed. More precisely, recent studies have shown that in the obese there is a flattening of the induced thermogenesis, and how this can significantly affect the increase in weight, so as to induce the various pharmaceutical companies to invest in the search for new active ingredients capable of modulating this kind of activity. At the same time it has been observed that, by enhancing thermogenesis, a greater energy expenditure can be created, able to contribute significantly to weight loss. The mechanisms by which these processes are carried out are not yet fully known, but represent a potential target of anti-obesity therapy.

It can therefore easily be deduced how these supplements find meaning in the induction of thermogenesis, and how this can be effective in weight loss. Their effectiveness is however subordinated to the association with a well balanced low-calorie diet and to a programmed and studied physical activity based on the physiological characteristics of the user.

Product composition in brief:

Thermo X - Sictec Nutrition

L-Carnitine 200mg: is an aminoacidic trimetilate underivate, synthesized mainly in the liver and kidneys, which acts as a carrier of long chain fatty acids at the level of the mitochondrial matrix to guarantee its oxidation. Lipid metabolism plays a key role in the body's energy balance, representing the primary source during mild aerobic activity. In these conditions, in fact, carnitine levels tend to decrease in favor of the acetylated form, which indicates an increased need for this molecule. Consequently, an increase in carnitine levels in the muscle could increase the lipid oxidation efficiency, guaranteeing adequate and sustained energy intake. However, it should be noted that in most cases the studies seem to agree on the absence of a real metabolic effect in healthy individuals.

At high doses episodes of insomnia, nausea, abdominal cramps, migraine and gastrointestinal disorders may occur, albeit rare.

L- Tyrosine 400 mg: polar amino acid not essential for humans. It is part of the synthesis of certain hormones, such as thyroxine and catecholamines. The positive effect on the hormonal profile - which is found with an increase in the blood levels of these hormones - seems to have a positive impact on both the psychic and the physical sphere. The daily requirement is between 500 and 1500 mg, but excessive intake could interfere with normal hormonal secretion.

Garcinia Cambogia 200mg extract: its phytotherapeutic properties are due to the presence of hydroxycitric acid, which appears to interfere with normal lipid metabolism. In particular, by sequestering acetyl CoA, this substance prevents the synthesis of fatty acids, significantly reducing lipogenesis and shifting the balance towards glycogen synthesis, of which it is the inducer. Although there are no side effects worth mentioning, the recommended dose of garcinia cambogia is between 500 and 2000 mg, titrated to 50% in hydroxycitric acid.

Alpha Lipoic Acid 100mg : the pure form, not associated with lysine (like that found naturally in food), is able to easily cross the intestinal barrier and become available for 30/40% of the total quota assumed. This cofactor concentrates mainly in tissues with aerobic metabolism, such as muscles, heart, liver and brain. where it is involved in numerous metabolic processes (oxidative decarboxylation, antioxidant and regenerative action) and where it seems, through independent insulin mechanisms, to improve glucose uptake. In sports, lipoic acid has been shown to protect muscle tissue from damage caused by intense physical activity, and in determining a significant reduction in weight, although this feature seems to be associated with loss of lean mass. The antioxidant action is carried out at low doses, while the metabolic one at more important doses, equal to 600mg / day; at doses higher than 1200 mg / day, side effects such as itching, tingling and gastrointestinal tract infections (diarrhea, vomiting and cramps) have been documented.

Caffeine 200 mg: methylxanthine commonly introduced through coffee; an espresso can in fact contain up to 100mg. After intake, caffeine is rapidly circulated and used by various tissues. It acts therefore at different levels, on the stomach, promoting acid secretion, on the heart, increasing its frequency and contractile intensity, on the respiratory system, improving ventilatory capacity, on muscle tissue, improving its contraction, and on the nervous system, increasing the secretion of catecholamines with consequent activation of the sympathetic system, important for supporting thermogenesis. The maximum safe dose used in the studies is 300 mg, beyond which there are tremors, anxiety, tachycardia, insomnia and excitement. On the other hand, prolonged use is an important risk factor for diseases of the gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and nervous tract (migraine).

Rational integration into the Thermo X sports practice - Sictec Nutrition

Unlike other thermogenic drugs, which focus on the effects of substances with nervine and sympathomimetic action, which are therefore effective in increasing the optional induced thermogenesis, this supplement seeks to associate a series of active substances on lipid metabolism, trying to mobilize the lipid stocks and on the other hand to prevent their synthesis. In literature there are no studies that test the synergistic efficacy of all these compounds, but there are some that show a strong antioxidant power of carnitine associated with alpha lipoic acid (so much to be used in the treatment of some neurodegenerative pathologies), and others which show an increase in oxidative metabolism following the simultaneous administration of carnitine and caffeine. Despite this it is still difficult to express a definitive opinion on the real effectiveness of this product.

Recommended use by the company - Thermo X - Sictec Nutrition

Take 1 to 2 capsules a day avoiding, preferably before meals.

Use in sports - Thermo X - Sictec Nutrition

If the dosage proposed by the company seems to be the most sensible with regard to the concentration of the individual active ingredients, it could instead be particularly advantageous to take the product an hour before training. This type of assumption could guarantee an improvement effect on performance, thanks to caffeine, but also greater oxidative protection, thanks to carnitine and alpha lipoic acid, and a greater efficiency of lipid oxidation in the immediate post work-out.

Side effects Thermo X - Sictec Nutrition

The presence of alkaloids and active ingredients capable of interfering with the hepatic enzyme chain, responsible for drug metabolism, could definitely alter the pharmacokinetic properties of certain active ingredients, enhancing or reducing their effects.

In literature there is no specific indication about potential side effects associated with the administration of the product in question, therefore these should be traced back to the side effects of the individual components.

Precautions for use Thermo X - Sictec Nutrition

The Thermo X - Sictec Nutrition product is contraindicated in cases of renal or hepatic disease, cardiovascular disease and / or hypertension, pregnancy, lactation and age less than 12 years, as well as in adolescents not yet trained.

The Thermo X - Sictec Nutrition product must be used as part of an adequate low-calorie diet, following a healthy lifestyle with a good level of physical activity. If the diet is followed for prolonged periods, over 3 weeks, it is advisable to consult a medical opinion.
