E482 STEAROIL-2-LACTILATED CALCIC
Calcium stearoyl-2-lactylate is a food additive of natural origin, deriving from a combination of calcium, stearic acid and lactic acid.
The origin of the stearic acid can be both vegetable and animal, even if it is almost always used that of vegetable origin.
These additives are used in the various products for the emulsifying and stabilizing function. They can be contained mainly in bakery products (toast, soft rolls).
At the moment there are no known negative side effects on humans deriving from the consumption of food products added with calcium stearoyl-2-lactylate.
Dose ADI: 20 mg per kg of body weight.
