Lasix

Before reading the article on - Lasix - make sure you are aware of the side effects and the legal repercussions arising from the use of anabolic steroids (regulated by the anti-doping law of December 14, 2000, No. 376 and subsequent updates, and by law on the subject of the discipline of narcotic drugs DPR 9 October 1990, No. 309 and subsequent updates)

Lasix is the trade name of a drug based on furosemide, a powerful diuretic that facilitates the elimination of water and salts from the body (in particular chlorine, potassium and sodium), increasing the production of urine by the kidney. Doctors use Lasix to eliminate fluid accumulation in tissues (edema), to treat hypertension and to resolve some serious heart and kidney problems. Healthy but unconscious subjects resort to this drug to lose weight in preparation for an athletic competition or to remedy excess pounds. Unfortunately with this medicine there is little to joke about. If used in excess and without medical supervision, Lasix can in fact cause severe dehydration, hypotension, cardiac arrhythmias and electrolyte imbalances, with the consequent appearance of increasing degrees of muscle weakness, up to paralysis and, in extreme cases, death. These boundary conditions are preceded by premonitory symptoms, such as irregular heartbeats, mood changes, muscle cramps or pain, nausea and widespread weakness. The risks increase in the presence of states predisposing to hypokalemia, such as liver cirrhosis, chronic diarrhea or vomiting, prolonged use of laxatives, poor potassium diet and concomitant use of mineralocorticoids.

To keep these side effects under control, Lasix is often combined with a diet rich in potassium (potatoes, bananas, oranges, tomatoes, spinach and dried fruit) possibly supplemented with dietary supplements. For even safer use, Lasix is sometimes combined with other potassium-sparing diuretics, such as Aldactone (spironolactone). These drugs, while enhancing the diuretic action, decrease the overall excretion of potassium.

Athletes use diuretics for different purposes. Someone hires them to avoid doping controls, others to lose weight where this is important to return to a specific class (boxing, weightlifting, athletic disciplines, etc.). Bodybuilders use diuretics to eliminate water retention and give muscles a denser and more defined appearance. For all these reasons Lasix belongs to the category of doping substances.

Lasix is available as tablets or solution for injection. The tablets begin to take effect about an hour after ingestion and remain active for the next three or four hours. The injectable preparation either intramuscularly or intravenously has a more rapid and intense effect.

The recruitment protocol generally respects a particular pattern. Initially Lasix is taken at low dosages (from 20 to 40 mg), if the effect obtained is not sufficient, the dosage of 1-2 tablets is increased at 4-hour intervals, without exceeding the limit of the overall 80-100 mg.
