Indications EURAX ® Crotamitone

EURAX ® is indicated in itchy skin manifestations associated with different states and in the treatment of scabies infestation.

Mechanism of action EURAX ® Crotamitone

EURAX ® is a drug based on Cotramitone, the active ingredient used effectively in the treatment of skin itching and scabies mite infestations.

Despite a well-characterized clinical efficacy, its mechanism of action is still unclear, evidently linked to its chemical-physical properties, most likely responsible for a cooling and soothing action on the skin subjected to irritation as well as anticinetic to the skin. scabies mite.

The aforementioned characteristics carry out an antipruritic and acaricidal action, supported by advantageous pharmacokinetic properties which allow the modestly systemically absorbed quota, following topical application, to be rapidly eliminated without overloading the hepatic metabolism.

However, direct bacteriostatic properties against Staphylococci and Streptococci are still unclear.
