Product features Taurix - Nutrisystem

L-Taurine - product derived from the amino acids methionine and cysteine in the presence of vitamin B6, synthesized in the liver. Although it is considered a conditionally essential amino acid, structurally and functionally the taurine cannot be defined as such, as it lacks the COOH group and above all because, not being part of the anabolic protein synthesis processes, it has no plastic or reconstructive effect. However, taurine, particularly concentrated in some tissues such as the heart and skeletal muscle, is part of numerous biological functions, which make the limited quantity of approximately 400 mg synthesized by our body, which can be easily integrated through common foods such as meat, the fish, eggs and milk. Not finding itself in products of vegetable origin, it can therefore represent a limiting factor for vegans, for which integration with specific products would become necessary.

Among the various biological functions, taurine is particularly important for the synthesis of bile salts and for its lipid metabolism, for the stabilization of cell membranes, for the regulation of volumetric and saline homeostasis of the cell, for immune activity and for the detoxifying and antioxidant action.

Given its potential functions, taurine has been tested in different pathological conditions, with successes sometimes partial and somewhat discussed. The absence of a systematic review of published studies, the absence of the description of a certain biological mechanism of action and the contradictory results decisively affect the therapeutic history of this substance, for which there is no drug on the market and a field of application specific.

However, taurine has proved effective in preventing retinal degeneration, in protecting the body from cardiovascular risk by improving the lipidemic profile, and in treating certain neuronal and metabolic pathologies.

In the sports field, however, taurine has found application in synergy with other energizing substances, such as caffeine and guarana, in supporting athletic and cognitive performance.

However, taurine is also used for purposes other than energizing ones, such as in assisting weight loss and counteracting the damage caused by intense physical activity.

Rationalization of integration in Taurix sports practice - Nutrisystem

Among the many expectations from the sports world on the use of taurine as a supplement, only a few have been partially satisfied. Certainly among these there is the possibility of taurine to counteract the damage induced by intense physical exercise, reducing markers of oxidative damage and improving performance. Consequently the energizing effect so much exalted, would be the result of an improvement in the protective capacities of the muscle, which is able to better withstand the oxidative insult induced by intense physical exercise.

However, there is a lack of scientific evidence regarding the possibility of assisting weight loss, despite an inverse correlation between the circulating levels of taurine and the incidence of obesity.

Recommended use by the company - Taurix - Nutrisystem

Take one capsule a day.

How to use in Taurix sports practice - Nutrisystem

Although many studies are still in an experimental phase, the antioxidant effects on men have been recorded for doses of 1.5 to 3 grams per day. To fully understand the usefulness of the various dosages, the results of some (few) studies on the pharmacokinetics of this substance must be taken into account.

Plasma peak: occurs between 60 and 120 minutes from oral ingestion and totally decays after 7 hours; this could suggest a subdivision of the total dosage into several parts.

Absorption: absorption occurs at the intestinal level through active transport, and appears to compete with other amino acids such as beta alanine; this suggests an intake on an empty stomach.

Excretion: studies have shown how elevated plasma levels can increase the renal elimination of this product, through a TauT receptor, which takes taurine from the plasma at high concentrations to be subsequently degraded and eliminated. Also this evidence suggests the subdivision into several moments of the daily dose.

In conclusion, from the various studies emerge data that suggest an intake divided into several daily doses on an empty stomach ... BUT ... from a pharmacokinetic point of view, this integration seems completely useless, because there is no increase of taurine pull neither at the muscular level nor at the cerebral level in healthy and well-fed individuals.

How to optimize your business Taurix - Nutrisystem

In energy drinks, taurine is associated with other tonics and energizers, such as caffeine, guarana and various vitamins. Studies on these beverages have had discordant effects, especially on improving cognitive abilities, while they seem to agree on improving athletic performance and cardiovascular perfusion.

Studies in association with other amino acids also appear to be encouraging, such as BCAAs, alpha-beta-glutarate and creatine, which show an increase in athletic performance.

Even the association with antioxidants such as vitamin C and lipoic acid, seems to support the antioxidant and myoprotective action of taurine, counteracting the damage induced by intense physical exercise.

Taurix side effects - Nutrisystem

Not yet well documented are the side effects of this substance, which seems to be safe at a dose of 3 grams per day.

However, cases of hypertension are documented

Nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and migraine were found at high doses.

Precautions for use Taurix - Nutrisystem

The product is contraindicated in cases of renal or hepatic disease, cardiovascular disease and / or hypertension, during pregnancy, during lactation, under 12 years.

Drug interactions could be achieved with antiepileptic and anti-pumping drugs.
