Definition

Generally, the dark color of the urine is a sign of "simple" dehydration, therefore of urine more concentrated in the healthy subject; it can also be the consequence of taking certain drugs or foods. In some cases it becomes a sign of various pathological conditions, such as jaundice and obstruction of the bile flow, or the presence of blood in the urine.
