Allergic conjunctivitis: why in the spring?

With the arrival of spring - in susceptible individuals - the allergic reaction is triggered by pollen from herbs, shrubs or trees, which are transported from the air.

Ocular allergies appear, therefore, in the period of the year in which the pollens that cause this reaction are present, following the life cycle of the plant responsible and on the basis of which pollen calendars are made. For example, Ambrosia pollens are responsible for an increasing number of allergies between late summer and early autumn.
