Mode of action AMUKINE MED ® Sodium hypochlorite

AMUKINE MED ® is a drug based on Sodium hypochlorite, characterized by a wide spectrum of direct action both against Gram positive and negative bacteria and against some fungi and yeasts, evidently linked to the amount of Active Chlorine.

The mechanism of action is due to the oxidizing action of Chlorine, capable of altering the normal structure of sulfhydryl groups of enzymes involved in cellular metabolism, thus determining both a denaturation of the protein component and an important loss of functionality.

The chemical characteristics of Sodium hypochlorite, make these solutions active for a short period of time, necessary however in the antisepsis of intact or damaged skin and in disinfection.
