Vibration platform: how does it work?

Edited by: Francesco Magagnini

The vibrating platform must not be confused with passive gymnastics or with electrostimulation : the principles on which it is based and the technology used are completely different; the muscle works actively, but exponentially.

Effective reduced training times on a vibration platform are equivalent in terms of blood pumping and muscle stress to much longer and often (for various reasons) less intense times than "classic" cardio or weight training.

Dr. Bosco and other researchers deepened studies on locomotion and on exercises of small duration but of very high intensity: they in fact produce positive effects on bone-muscular and articular structures. The controlled vibration of the vibrating vibrating platforms stimulates contractions and involuntary decontractions on a muscular and neurological level.

Running, walking or doing exercises in the gym the maximum speed of contraction is 5-6 per second, however voluntary contractions and with the variable of type of muscle fibers and training.

The vibrating platform allows to take advantage of the involuntary contraction and stimulates the contraction-decontraction for 20-50 times per second, an unthinkable speed to get free body.

The benefits given by the vibrating platform are not only linked to the muscular work performed, but also to the release of some hormones, which the vibratory stimulus causes in a completely natural way: they give a feeling of well-being and increase our basal metabolism, with all the related advantages. It should be remembered that the first applications of the vibrating platforms were to the advantage of the Russian astronauts who managed, with 10 minutes a day of treatment, to stay in orbit a full 420 days against the 120 days of the American astronauts who had to return to earth for serious muscular problems and bone.
