E110 - YELLOW ORANGE S or YELLOW SUNSET FCF (CI 15985)

Orange yellow S - otherwise known as sunset yellow FCF - is an azo yellow dye, synthetically produced. It is commonly found in: apricot jams, biscuits with orange jelly, instant chocolate drinks, instant soups, cheese creams, yogurt creams, marzipan, pudding powder and packaged breadcrumbs.

Risks: hyperactivity, asthma, hives, skin rashes, stomach pain, insomnia, vomiting; furthermore, there are studies that support a possible carcinogenic effect.

Orange yellow S can cause allergic reactions; in particular, it is not recommended for asthmatics and people allergic to aspirin.
