Indications DUAC ® Benzoyl peroxide + Clindamycin

DUAC® is used in the treatment of moderate and severe vulgar acne especially in the presence of inflammatory lesions.

Mechanism of action DUAC ® Benzoyl peroxide + Clindamycin

DUAC® is a medicinal specialty that combines the therapeutic activity of two different active ingredients such as Benzoyl Peroxide and Clindamycin, thus enhancing therapeutic and antiacneic potential.

More precisely, benzoyl peroxide performs both an antiseptic action directed towards Propionibacterium acnes and a modest exfoliating and keratolytic action, Clindamycin on the other hand, by inhibiting the ribosomal subunit 23 S, blocks protein synthesis and therefore the proliferation of Gram positive bacteria among the such as precisely P. acnes, at the same time carrying out a sensitive sebostatic action, important in reducing sebaceous hypersecretion typical of acneic pathology.

The combination of these two different active ingredients proved to be decidedly more effective than the monotherapies, in regulating sebum secretion and inhibiting bacterial proliferation, also controlling the amount of inflammatory lesions.
