Children's Cosmetics for Face and Body Skin

For the skin of the face and body

The baby's skin is characterized by an absent-low presence of sebum. The sebaceous secretion decreases after the first three months of life of the newborn and is reactivated during puberty.

The baby's skin therefore tends to dryness and peeling .

Inflammation and irritation can be direct consequences of the poor efficiency of the dermo-epidermal protective barrier. It is therefore necessary, through the use of suitable cosmetic products, to integrate the lipid fraction not present on the child's skin and the moisturizing components such as the natural hydration factor (NMF) compensating for transepidermal water loss (TEWL).

A paid cosmetic that aims to restore the functionality of the protective barrier must:

  • Improve skin hydration through the use of humectants such as glycerin, sorbitol, amino acids and protein hydrolysates.
  • Increase the emolliency of the skin thanks to the presence in formulation of ceramides, vegetable oils, vitamins, fatty acids (polyunsaturated lipids, omega three and omega six);
  • Increase emolliency and skin hydration with an occlusive effect due to the presence in the formulation of mineral oils (eg liquid paraffin) that create an occlusive film on the skin that prevents the loss of transepidermal water.
